Maui Marathon and Half Marathon 2019

The Maui Marathon course is undoubtedly one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world. With over 17 miles of oceanfront running on what Conde Nast Traveler Magazine described as “The World’s Best Island,” the Maui Marathon is not just a race, it is a vacation in paradise.   The Maui Marathon and Half Marathon is renowned for being one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world. Following the main route from Kahului to Ka’anapali, runners are treated to some of the most spectacular mountain and ocean views that Maui has to offer. This 26.2-mile course is recognized as one of the ten most scenic marathons in the USA as well as the oldest consecutive running marathon in Hawaii. A major portion of the course runs within 50 feet of the Pacific Ocean. Comfortable weather conditions, a relatively flat course and world class resort facilities make the Maui Marathon not only a perfect place to run but also an amazing place to spend preparing for and recovering from the big race. Events Marathon Half Marathon 10k 5k Course The Maui Marathon course is a point to point course, from Kahului to Ka'anapali and is a mixture of flat residential streets, rolling hills and a 7 mile flat stretch along the ocean front, hopefully with the wind at your back. The course is recognised as one of the ten most scenic marathons in the USA and a major proportion of the course runs within 50 feet of the Pacific Ocean. The Maui Half Marathon is a flat, starting in front of the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Click here to view the Maui Marathon course map Start Time Marathon:             5:00am from Maui Mall Half Marathon:     5:30am from Whaler's Village Shopping Center 10km:                     5:45am 5km:                       5:55am Time Limit Marathon:           8hrs Half Marathon:    4hrs Race Pack Collection Race Packs must be picked up from the Race Expo.  Please bring a valid ID. You can pick up for another runner if you have a valid ID plus a letter from the runner stating you are collecting the race packet on their behalf.  Your race packet contains your bib number with an imbedded timing chip and your event tshirt.  Expo The Maui Marathon Expo will be held at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa and will on Friday and Saturday.  Friday                    12:00pm – 5:00pm Saturday                9:00am – 5:00pm Aid Stations The Maui Marathon has a total of 16 aid stations on the course and water is available at the start and finish. All aid stations have water and Gatorade and select stations have sponges. This drink will help replenish the electrolytes that you lose while out on the course and sweating.  Finish Line The finish line will hav fruit, water, Powerade, chocolate milk and other goodies. There will be other items for sale at the finsih line. There is live Hawaiian entertainment for you to enjoy while you sit and recover after your run.  Medals & Finisher’s Tshirt A commemorative finisher’s medal will be given to all runners as they cross the finish line. Finisher’s shirts can be picked up at the Health And Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday and sizes can be exchanged after races are completed if shirts have not been worn. Race Day Shuttles Marathon:  Marathon shuttle buses will leave at on Sunday from 2:45am to 3:45am from the stage outside the Westin Maui Resort and Spa ballroom exit. Last bus will leave at 3:45am. Shuttle will take runners to the start line at Ho'okele Street in Kahului - 40 min ride. Half Marathon:  Shuttle Buses will be available from Kahului, departing from 4:30am to the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. Bag Drop Your personal items can be left at the start line, in a labelled, plastic bag. You can claim your bag at the finish line. Medical There will be a medical tent with full medical staff at the finish line helping anyone in need of assistance before, during and after the race. There are 4 medical tents on the course, located with Aid Stations 4, 9, 13 and 16. Medical vans will be on the course just in case runners need help during race or assistance to go back to finish line.  Pasta Party and Awards Party To be confirmed at a later date. Climate You can expect the temperature to be in the mid 70's (23 celcius) at 5.30am and in the low 80’s (28 degrees) by 11am.
