Marathon du Medoc 2020

The event is built on the four pillars of Health, Sport, Conviviality and Fun. Each year has a different theme and 2020 is CINEMA. From King Kong to R2D2, Bogie and Bacall, Frankensten and Mickey Mouse..... the choices are endless, as is the fun! Join us on this FULLY ACCOMPANIED trip to Bordeaux. The Marathon du Medoc is synonymous with the wineries of Bordeaux. Run past such seminal wineries as Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Beychevelles, Lynch-Bages, Pichon Longueville plus others. Despite the fun aspects of the race, the Marathon du Medoc is nonetheless a real Marathon, 42.195 km measured officially. The fantastic organisation and beauty of the course have placed it among the leading international marathons year in year out drawing an ever increasing number of foreign participants. You too can be part of the fun and be supported and cheered on by 3,000 volunteers and 100,000 spectators Course A single loop course, which winds its way round a stunningly beautiful circuit with over 50 chateaus.Approximately 24% of the course is off road. The course is closed to traffic.  Cut Off Time 6hrs 30mins. Any runner who wants to leave the race will have to go to a radio spot, located every 2kms near the drink stations/medical tents. A shuttle will take you back to the finish line. Medical Tthe Medoc marathon offers comprehensive medical assistance with a team of 300 persons operating at 10 medical stations over the course and 5 specialized tents at the finish. Awards (and Wine!) At the finish line each runner is rewarded with a large number of gifts; tee-shirt, medal, sports bag, bottle of Medoc wine, surprise gifts, art print, refreshments etc. Associated Events It’s not all about the marathon – there is fun everywhere!
